The Discover Ireland database of Festivals and Special Events is a bank of key events taking place in the Republic of Ireland. This web application is a bespoke system that collects data from event organisers and allows content editors to review and modify the data if required. Photos and Images are also gathered through this system.
The database information is gathered through the data collection system on behalf of Fáilte Ireland for the purpose of promoting Festivals, Events and Tourism in Ireland. The festivals and events database allows the edited information feed into the DiscoverIreland.ie, Ireland.com and VisitDublin.com websites. The event information is also drawn upon and used by Fáilte Ireland to promote these events through a range of communication channels, including:.
